BASIC RULES

• 2v2, 3v3, or 4v4 --- we’ll keep it at 4 max per side.

• Servers must rotate, but players do not have to rotate positions.

• Rally Scoring.

• LET SERVE’ IS OK! 1 toss/serve.

• CanNOT receive serves open-handed (palms must touch).

• A ‘block’ does not count as a ‘hit’ (3 touches after a block).

• 3 Rotations allowed on a Hand Set.

• Hard-driven balls CAN be received open-handed. (NO arch = hard driven!)

• A free ball CAN be set open-handed (NOT when receiving a serve) AS LONG AS the ball comes out “clean” (no sideways rotation or double contact) & rotates WITHIN HAND SET CRITERIA for this league (3 rotations).

• No open hand dinks.

• Oversets are OK as long as the ball goes directly in front of or directly in back of the setter. (if the ball spins to the left or right -OR- rotates more than 3 times àNO GOOD!)

• Balls played from or off the grass, trees, catch nets, umbrellas, ball stops, etc. are dead. Poles & pole pads are ‘out’ àEverything connecting pole/pole pad to net is ‘in’. (ie: ropes, wires, wooden dowels)
